Chapter 624 World 82
Chapter 624 World 82
The rest of the time was spent watching Stella enjoy the scenery.
To avoid upsetting her too much, Stella chose to send her to rest and cut off the communication in advance.
When they contacted each other again, Stella wasn't there, so Catherine stopped mentioning it.
After leaving this excellent flower viewing spot, Stella headed north. Although she passed through the human principalities along the way, she usually just glanced at them from afar and left quickly, without much intention of going in to experience their prosperity.
When Stella arrived in the Chaotic Lands from the territory of the Temple of Light, she received a message from Catherine.
"I've accepted a mission to the Chaotic Lands. Stella, wait for me a moment, I'll be there soon."
The Chaotic Lands are located at the border between the forces of the Light and Dark Temples; everyone wants to control them, yet no one can.
In addition, they did need a buffer zone, and over time, this place became a melting pot of various forces.
Rebels are particularly active here, and their influence is not small, but they are not very successful in spreading their doctrines.
In places like this, people have all sorts of beliefs, and whether they are truly devout is unknown, since they can flexibly adjust their beliefs depending on whether the gods protect them.
They believe in the God of Light today, but may convert to the God of Darkness tomorrow. And if those who betray God can offer them enough benefits, they might temporarily disbelieve in no one but themselves.
Stella didn't know much about the area, so she didn't go into the city. Instead, she randomly found a tall tree and hid among the leaves, waiting quietly.
Fortunately, Catherine didn't keep her waiting too long; she arrived quickly via the magic circle.
More than a year has passed, and Catherine has made great progress and has gathered several usable followers around her.
These people were mostly of high status and held Catherine in high esteem. They were Catherine's new friends, but more like subordinates who were subordinates to her.
Stella pulled her hood tighter before appearing in front of Catherine and the others.
"Who?" A young man reacted quickly, drawing his sword and blocking the way in front of the group, looking at Stella warily.
“Knight, wait!” Catherine stopped him, quickly stepped forward and gave Stella a hug. “Darling, I’ve missed you so much.”
The expressions of the people behind her, including the knight, changed slightly.
Stella gently patted Catherine: "Haven't we met up?"
As soon as her melodious voice came out, the people behind Catherine seemed to have learned how to change faces, and they all returned to normal, but they couldn't help but feel a little more curious about Stella.
"God of Law, who is this?"
Catherine turned around and introduced her to them: "This is my good friend, you can just call her Goddess."
After saying that, she turned to Stella and explained, "We agreed before we came out that everyone would be addressed by their code names."
“I am the God of Magic, and they are the Knight, the King, and the Duchess.”
The knight has already spoken, so it's easy to tell who is who among the remaining man and woman.
"So you're a friend of the God of Magic," the king said with a gentle smile, looking at Stella with great friendliness. "Did you wait for us here specifically?"
Stella nodded, not intending to answer herself, and looked directly at Catherine.
Catherine said, "I asked the goddess to wait for us here, but she won't participate in our mission. She's just here for a little get-together with me."
Since Catherine had already said that, the other three gave up on wanting to say more to Stella.
Of course, this was also because Stella didn't pay much attention to people, which made them feel that her attitude was too arrogant.
They originally thought that once they settled in, they would be able to see what Stella looked like, but to their surprise, Stella wrapped herself up tightly as soon as she entered the house.
Catherine noticed their curiosity, but her smile grew even brighter as she stepped in to defend them, saying, "The goddess is rather shy and rarely interacts with outsiders except for those she knows well."
With Catherine's explanation, Stella went straight into her room.
The king and the duchess exchanged glances, then jokingly said, "God of Law, what is this person's identity? This is the first time we've met someone more arrogant than us."
Catherine's eyes sparkled: "She is my friend, and also a friend of my elders."
The knight couldn't help but say, "Ah, she looks quite young. So she's actually an elder."
The king's smile deepened, and the duchess couldn't help but laugh out loud, asking Catherine directly, "God of Magic, the elder you're talking about isn't your father, is it?"
Catherine winked playfully with her left eye, but didn't say anything.
The king and the duchess understood each other perfectly.
The knight scratched the back of his head: "What have you guys found out now?!"
"It's alright," the duchess took a deep breath and patted the knight's head with pity. "It's not your fault for knowing too little. Get some rest. We have a lot to do tomorrow."
Catherine found it amusing, exchanged a few words with them, and then went to Stella's room.
“Stella,” Catherine said, leaning against her like a pillow, taking a deep breath as if she were petting a cat, “you smell so good.”
Stella paused for a moment, then "helped" Catherine sit up properly and refused to let her come any closer: "Speak properly."
“Okay,” Catherine finally returned to normal and briefly mentioned the other three to Stella.
Unsurprisingly, they all come from well-known families on the mainland.
The king is a prince of a country that rivals the Xuean Empire, though not the crown prince. Therefore, the king represents his hopes for the future.
The knight comes from another great country. In fact, he should be a duke. The current emperor sitting on the throne of their country is his own brother, but he is determined to be a knight, so he took the title to satisfy his craving first.
The duke is the sole heir to another duchy. Upon returning after completing her studies, she will become a standard Grand Duchess.
These three, along with a member of a powerful family from the Xuean Empire, including Catherine who possesses royal blood, are already at a level where they can roam freely in any human nation.
Stella didn't even raise an eyebrow, which disappointed Catherine.
"Stella, you're so calm. I thought you'd be a little surprised."
Stella glanced at her, thought for a moment, and said, "Wow, your team is really amazing."
"Pfft," Catherine was glad she hadn't drunk any water, or she would have choked. "Never mind, Stella, don't force yourself."
Stella tilted her head, lowered her hood, and removed the black veil covering her face, only to see Catherine staring intently at her.
“Stella, you’re so beautiful,” Catherine said, cupping her face in her hands, her eyes full of admiration. “Stella, how many days are you planning to stay in the Chaotic Lands?”
Stella ignored her compliment and answered only the second question.
