Chapter 296 First MVP Award
Chapter 296 First MVP Award
At halftime, the Hawks led by 10 points, 45-55.
贾飞半场贡献17分4个篮板3次助攻1个抢断1个盖帽,得分是全场最高。
In the third quarter, the Wizards made adjustments to their offense, increasing their inside attacks, while on the defensive end they expanded their rotations and started double-teaming Jia Fei earlier.
But the Hawks broke through their defense with skillful passing and cutting and accurate outside shooting. With Jia Fei continuing to dominate the game with his second unit, the Wizards' hopes of a comeback were dashed, and they conceded defeat with about four minutes remaining.
Ultimately, the Hawks defeated the Wizards 90-107 at home, securing victory in Game 1 of the semifinals. This game proved that their league-leading record is well-deserved.
贾飞用单场35+9+8+2+1的数据告诉所有人,他在季后赛的表现比常规赛只好不差。
After the Hawks won the first game, those who had been touting that the Wizards would eliminate them began to side with them, saying that they would meet the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, and that Jia Fei would face off against Running Man for the second consecutive year.
Jia Fei was utterly exasperated with these media people. They were like two-faced devils, one minute praising you to the skies, the next calling you trash. They seemed to have a point no matter what they said, constantly contradicting themselves and raking in the traffic. They didn't care if they were proven wrong; they could use it as a negative indicator as long as they got traffic.
After the game, Jia Fei treated Kemba Walker and his team to dinner at an upscale restaurant in downtown Atlanta.
"Jia, I'm really sorry, we're just having fun here, and you've treated us to the game and the meal. You've gone to so much trouble!" Kemba Walker said with a smile.
"What are you talking about? You can stay here as long as you want, and I'll cover the expenses. Why are you being so polite with me? Do you believe I'll tell your girlfriend about your embarrassing moments?" Jia Fei said meaningfully.
"Okay, I won't stand on ceremony, but I have to make it clear that I haven't done anything embarrassing, so don't try to frame me!" Kemba Walker said as if he were absolutely certain, but anyone who understood him knew that his tone wasn't so firm.
Kemba Walker's new girlfriend is named Vivian. She never expected that NBA superstar Jia Fei would be so easygoing and funny. If she didn't already know Kemba Walker, she would really want to pursue him. Because he's really funny and so handsome!
These days, values follow physical appearance. Jia Fei is not only handsome, but also rich; he's practically a diamond bachelor.
Game 2 of the series between the Hawks and Wizards will continue on May 3 at Philips Arena. The loss in the first game has made the Wizards players much more low-key, and they have refused to be interviewed by many reporters. Head coach Randy Whitman said that he would decline all interviews before Game 2.
Everything seemed a bit mysterious, and Jia Fei knew it was just a smokescreen from their opponents. "You think you can pull off something big with just this many players?"
Did Wall suddenly become a shooter like Curry? Did Beal suddenly become a defender comparable to Jrue Holiday? Did Bao Pi suddenly become 5 years younger? Did Nene suddenly become a two-ball? Or did the head coach suddenly become Zhuge Weivic?
On the evening of May 3, Game 2 of the series officially began.
Neither side made any substitutions, and the Wizards, as the losing team, were rumored to be making lineup changes, but this turned out not to be the case.
The Wizards didn't change their lineup, but they did make some adjustments.
The first adjustment is to have Beal run more off-ball, concentrating more ball-handling duties on Wall, thereby limiting Jia Fei's defense; the second is to have Bao Pi resolutely guard Korver and Nene resolutely guard Mills, quickly passing the ball out after being double-teamed, and making more decisive outside shots; the third adjustment is on the defensive end, to double-team Jia Fei earlier, forcing him to pass the ball, and increasing the speed of rotation.
After these three moves, the two teams were evenly matched.
The Hawks' starting lineup's weakness, Korver, was exploited. While Bao Pi couldn't beat Jia Fei, he could still handle him. Even a weakened giant is still formidable; Bao Pi's offensive skills and physical strength remain, giving him a clear advantage against the equally aging Korver. Their other starting weakness—their lack of height in the paint—was also exploited. Nene and Gortat had a significant height advantage under the basket, grabbing several rebounds.
The Hawks made quick adjustments, reducing Korver's playing time and increasing Carroll's playing time, in response to Korver being targeted and double-teamed and then quickly passing the ball out to the opponent.
The Hawks started to speed up, exploiting the Wizards' slow twin towers and taking advantage of the space provided by their five-outside lineup to drive and dish relentlessly, stretching the opponent's defense.
Jia Fei starts his shot without the ball, using his presence to create opportunities for his teammates.
The first half was a close contest between the two sides, but after the Hawks rallied with 3 points in the second half, the balance of victory shifted in their favor.
Ultimately, the Hawks narrowly defeated the Wizards at home, winning the next two games and taking a 2-0 lead in the series.
Jia Fei did not continue his excellent offense in this game. He was heavily double-teamed and had fewer shot attempts, but still managed a near triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.
With the series leading 2-0, the Hawks are widely expected to advance. It's clear the Wizards have very little room for adjustment. Changing the starting lineup is one option, but even then, the fundamental problems remain unresolved.
Game 3 of the series between the two teams will be held on May 6 at the Wizards' home arena, MCI Center. For the Wizards, they are on the brink of elimination; one more step and they will fall into an abyss.
Hawks fans have also seen the light at the end of the tunnel for the team to reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the second year in a row, and it seems that day is not too far away.
On May 4, the NBA officially announced the winner of the 2014-15 regular season MVP award.
Jia Fei, the star player from the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference, received this honor!
This is the first time Jia Fei has won the regular season MVP in his career!
The regular season MVP award is a stepping stone to becoming an NBA superstar. Winning this award doesn't guarantee you a spot in the NBA's 50 or 100 greatest players, but it can basically help you get into the Hall of Fame, earn a top salary, and truly become a superstar.
Most NBA legends have won the regular season MVP award. Even those who don't have a ring have won the regular season MVP, such as Malone, Iverson, and Barkley.
The championship is a team honor, while the regular season MVP is an individual honor that others cannot share with you.
Moreover, unlike scoring titles which can be easily achieved through sheer numbers, this award considers your individual statistics, including basic and advanced stats; your team's performance as a leader; your role within the team; and so on. There are also attendance requirements; it's a comprehensive evaluation of a player's performance over 82 regular season games, so there's very little element of chance involved.
