Chapter 929: Dealing with the Grant Family
Chapter 929: Dealing with the Grant Family
"It has nothing to do with you." Damian Knight’s expression softened slightly as he spoke, "Now, you need to do something."
"As you wish."
"Before ten o’clock, gather all the dirt on the Grant Group in Rivain, no matter how significant. Also, prepare a list of the Grant Group’s cooperation over the past year, the more detailed the better."
The manager straightened his back. Young Master Knight was preparing to take action against the Grant Family.
He quickly tapped his heels together and agreed crisply, "Yes!"
"Also, book the latest flight for tonight; I need to return to Crestfall."
The manager was taken aback and said, "The people from Europe are coming over tomorrow; you’ll definitely need to sign the contract with them. Are you sure you want to return to Rivain today?"
"I’ll go back for a few hours and return on the early morning flight tomorrow."
The manager was even more surprised. What urgent matter could possibly necessitate such quick back-and-forth travel?
But he dared not question further. At this moment, Damian Knight seemed to emanate an icy aura — if he was already cold usually, now he was even colder. The manager dared not ask another word, so he nodded and followed the orders.
"Yes, I’ll send you the flight information once the ticket is booked."
The manager bowed and left as if escaping.
Meanwhile.
Far away in Crestfall, Mr. Grant sneezed heavily: "Achoo—"
He rubbed his nose, feeling an increasing sense of unease.
What was going on with him? He’d been feeling restless, even spacing out three or four times during a thirty-minute video conference.
This had never happened before.
Mrs. Grant happened to enter the room to pour him some tea. Seeing him like this, she asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell due to the dry climate?"
Mr. Grant nodded, "Maybe. It’s too dry here compared to the South. Once we resolve Willow’s matters, we should head back."
Mrs. Grant sighed and said, "Willow locked herself in her room all afternoon, refusing to come out even for dinner, insisting she needs to focus on studying."
Mr. Grant closed his notebook and said, "Isn’t that a good thing? For years in Cathaysia, fewer than a hundred people have been admitted to Britton University. If she gets in with such dedication, it would be a great honor for our family. Then Susan Stone won’t have any choice but to welcome Willow in respectfully."
"Studying hard isn’t wrong, but the problem is..." Mrs. Grant lowered her voice and said, "I’ve been in twice, and the page she’s reading hasn’t turned. I think she’s still preoccupied with that little vixen. Do you think we should send someone again tonight? Once that little vixen is out of the way, Willow can study with peace of mind."
Mr. Grant refused outright, "No need. We already stirred things up at noon; sending someone again will only leave evidence. We can’t take that risk. Anyway, the exam results will come out tomorrow. Willow told me that girl’s grades are poor. Once Susan Stone sees the results, she’ll understand who is the better daughter-in-law."
Mrs. Grant sighed, "We’ll just have to rely on Willow’s grades. She must take first place to make us proud."
"Taking first place is certain; Willow has been first from childhood onward."
Mr. Grant was very confident about this.
Before they knew it, night had fallen completely.
When Summer Monroe returned to Redleaf Manor, she felt an unusual number of gazes around her.
It wasn’t until she summoned Cece and Bella that she found out that upon learning that the Grant Family had sent mercenaries, Damian Knight had immediately strengthened the security around Redleaf Manor.
