Chapter 197: Expedition Starts
The second item was termed the Contribution Brace, an arm guard strapped to the left hand, made of Vara, and served to record the presence of every death within the user’s Spirit Weapon range.
"The Vara in it is sourced from our Ancestor himself, and has been developed to capture the presence of every death in your Spirit Weapon range." FyorBuntara explained, "With it, we can deduce the cause of death."
"And even though it is an Information Slip, only some of us can sense and access the Contribution Brace’s information." FyorBuntara continued, "Ensure you have it on you, no matter what."
The third item was termed the Recon Brace, an arm guard strapped to the right hand, made of Vara, which was capable of radially releasing a faint net of presence and could be used to communicate with others, even beyond the Spirit Weapon range.
Embedded on the arm guard were tiny pellets, which can be extracted and stuck onto targets, containing whatever information someone wanted to convey. It would remain hidden and won’t appear on Prana detection means.
"Only the Recon Brace can sense these Recon Pellets, which is how those who have traversed an unknown location before you can warn you in advance." FyorBuntara explained, "It can also pick up waves of presence released by Wean Clansmen and translate it into a form of skin prickles you can understand."
"As long as you use Mystic Sumatra Art, the meaning will appear in your mind space."
The fourth item was termed the Aurora Crown, whose only function was to rapidly absorb the aurora unleashed by the Wean Clansmen and use it to empower the abilities of the respective individual.
This aurora only appears when a large concentration of Empyrean Boars gather in one place and unleash their presence. Their individual presence will synchronise with each other and form a collective phenomenon of presence capable of reinforcing the Empyrean Boars while suppressing everyone else.
That was the Empyrean Boar Aurora!
When an existence reaches a certain level of strength where they become as powerful as a collective of Empyrean Boars, they could unleash the aurora by themselves. That is the Empyrean Boar King, a Mystic Grade Pranic Beast.
Everyone part of the Wean Clan could join hands to create the Empyrean Boar Aurora too. The Free Humans of the Varahan Empire, who build their Human Avatars using Vara, can also create the same aurora.
"The moment we enter the enemy territory, we’ll deploy the Empyrean Boar Aurora." FyorBuntara explained, "That will help enhance your capabilities on all fronts, and increase your survival chances."
The fifth item was a short sword, with the blade reaching a length of thirty centimetres. The moment Torq grabbed it, he grunted a little, for it was heavy, ’Must be at least twenty kilograms.’
But that wasn’t all. Instinctively, he perceived a bunch of Natures of the same kind within it, which had all harmonised with each other to unleash a singular effect, even without their activation, just through the sheer concentration of their influence that reached a level on par with a Nature.
’I remember this!’ Torq almost dropped the short sword, for he immediately grew tense upon holding it, ’Just how many were killed to make this?’
"That’s the Blessed Blade!" FyorBuntara’s explanations nailed Torq’s suspicions, "You only need to seep your Prana into it, and you’ll be able to coat the blade’s edge with the effect of a Bluder’s Eddy Blade."
"Each activation consumes 30 units of Prana. And obviously, the effect is a tenth of the Eddy Blade’s potency." FyorBuntara concluded the explanation, "Where necessary, you can conserve your Prana by using the Blessed Blade instead."
The miscellaneous item was called Yarn, spanning ten in number, "Infuse your Prana into it and throw it at the enemy. It will expand into a net and wrap around the target."
FyorBuntara warned, "Remember, it’s only created using a Balghat’s wool, so it won’t buy anymore than a couple seconds against the enemy."
Balghat was an Iron Grade Pranic Beast, whose wool had a unique property of expansion and contraction to bind the target, which upon some processing by the Wean Clan, a suit could be created.
Telghat was its Mutant, a Silver Grade Pranic Beast. And its wool had been processed to create the Telghat Battlesuit worn by Torq and others of his squad.
"Any questions?" FyorBuntara asked upon completing th explanation.
"Yes," Someone from the squad raised his hand and asked the question upon being prompted by Fyorbuntara, "Why can’t we have more items like the Blessed Blade? If we had one that’s made using Shredded Lunge, we’ll be able to travel faster."
"The goal of the expedition is to understand the enemies and figure out means to kill them better." FyorBuntara explained, "In a battle, you will need as much speed as you can get, for which you’ll obviously activate Shredded Lunge."
"If you wish to flee, then you’ll assume your Pranic Beast form and go all out." He concluded, "There’s no meaning in having an evasive item while your intention is to conserve your Prana."
"Any other questions?" He asked, and continued upon seeing everyone go silent, "With things said and done, we’ll now begin our boarding preparations."
"Follow me out." He said and led the Potential Squad members numbering 120 in total, 60 of which were from the Empyrean Boar Branch.
The Forest Boar Branch had 36 people, followed by the Murky Boar Branch at 12, and the Heavy Boar Branch at 10 and the Spectral Boar Branch at 2.
Torq wore the Telghat Battlesuit and equipped all the four main items and ten miscellaneous items upon him, noticing the battlesuit automatically integrating all the items into a singular whole, ’It feels pretty natural now.’
He removed his existing robe, for it wasn’t suited for a battle, and placed it in the now empty suitcase. Cassying the two suitcases using psychokinesis, he followed the rest of his squad members and walked through the City.
The moment they exited their building, the squad members were stunned to notice the majority of the city had gone vacant. And right after they exited their building, a team of Wean Clansmen appeared to quickly disassemble the building and loaded the materials into a gigantic cart, which was then craned into the mouth of the Empyrean Tusk.
’This entire city has been built for the expedition. Now, it’s getting transferred into the biomes of the Empyrean Tusk.’ Torq gasped in amazement, and then, as he stared at the Empyrean Tusk, he noticed a faint silhouette of a man seated on its head, casually observing the boarding process.
"It’s our turn now." FyorBuntara said and boarded a large compartment alongside his squad members, which was then pulled up using a crane and placed within the Empyrean Tusk’s mouth.
"Follow me," Upon landing on the mouth, Fyorbuntara walked out of the crate and followed a set tunnel as instructed by a Wean Clansman stationed nearby, holding a massive Vara Slip to keep a track of all logistics.
KURRALALALA!
The Empyrean Tusk trumpeted once again, upon the now empty city, which had no trace of buildings anymore.
The man seated on its head commented casually, "Boarding complete."
And then, under his orders, the Empyrean Tusk began to walk in the direction of the Sandy-Grey Void.
