Chapter 95 Betraying the Duke for Bella
Chapter 95 Betraying the Duke for Bella
"Are you sure you want to betray Duke Argyll for this woman?"
Bruce thoroughly enraged Duke Argyll's men. They stepped forward, glaring at Bruce, and thugs rushed in, each armed with a gun. In an instant, the situation nearly spiraled out of control.
"Bruce, I'm helping you out of your troubles, not so you can date my woman."
Just then, a man in a white suit walked in through the banquet hall; he was the one who had just said those words.
The man had handsome features and rarely smiled. Even when wearing the most elegant white suit, he exuded a fierce and unruly aura.
After he arrived, a chilling atmosphere instantly filled the room. The man seemed to have come from hell, to destroy the world.
Robert's appearance was so stunning that when everyone's attention was on him, the women could hardly contain their excitement and were almost madly infatuated with Robert, who was like a human Lucifer.
Some of the young, naive noble ladies began to whisper among themselves, inquiring about Robert's background.
Bruce never expected Robert to come to his party in person and say such shocking things.
It turns out that Robert helped him solve his troubles because of Miss Bella.
Bruce frowned slightly as he looked at Ning Yao, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
He genuinely liked Ning Yao, but at this point, even his sincerity was probably useless.
Looking across the entire country of Y, who is so reckless as to dare to go against Robert's power?
Among those attending the party were high-ranking military officials, and someone immediately recognized Robert.
Robert is a force that emerged five years ago, composed of a fierce and ruthless mercenary group. They are neither entirely good nor evil, and act entirely on their own whims. They are the kingpin organization of the underground party in Country Y. Whether it is royalty, nobles, or other business tycoons, everyone who meets Robert shows him some respect.
No one knows exactly how much money Robert has or how much weaponry he possesses; he is a mysterious and dangerous man.
Robert walked up to Ning Yao, and his white suit and Ning Yao's moon-white dress inexplicably made them the most well-matched couple in the room.
Robert's sharpness was subtly concealed when facing Ning Yao, turning into gentleness and elegance, a stark contrast to his previous murderous demeanor.
At this moment, the women present realized that Robert had said something like "my woman" when he entered, and that was obviously directed at Bruce. So, the woman he liked was Bella?
In an instant, countless women's hearts shattered into pieces, and their faces turned even more ashen than those of a bitter gourd.
Shanna, however, was secretly sizing up Robert, her eyes filled with undisguised amazement. She stared intently at Robert, a voice in her mind constantly reminding her that only such an outstanding and domineering man was worthy of her status as a noblewoman...
Compared to Robert, what is Bruce? One is a god in the heavens, the other is a mortal on earth.
Since he's the man she's set her sights on, she certainly won't easily give him up to another woman!
"Scared?" Robert looked down at the pretty woman in front of him. His voice was deep and magnetic, and his bass voice was a pleasure to listen to.
Robert's hand landed on Ning Yao's hair without any hesitation, his warm palm gently pressing against her soft, fluffy, straw-yellow hair.
Ning Yao did not dodge, letting him touch her head, but her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly, still revealing her displeasure at being touched on the head.
Robert's background is clearly far more impressive than Bruce's; she would be better off relying on Robert than Bruce.
Ning Yao knew that Robert was helping her. Whether she could escape this trap alive depended entirely on Robert.
The Duke of Argyll's men around her were all armed with guns; if she wasn't careful, her head would be riddled with bullets.
"Anyone who touches my woman will pay the price." Robert glared coldly at Duke Argyll's subordinates. Even with the dark muzzles of guns in front of him, he showed no fear. Despite being unarmed, he intimidated those armed men, who took two steps back.
"Mr. Robert, are you openly going against our Duke Argyll?" Argyll's subordinate was sweating profusely, suppressing his discomfort and enduring Robert's immense pressure to stand up to him.
"Put down your guns, you've frightened my princess." Robert raised an eyebrow, speaking to Argyll's men in a commanding tone, as if he were their leader.
When Argyle's subordinate saw that Robert had come to the party alone, he immediately clenched his jaw muscles and raised his hand to signal his men to draw their guns and aim them at Robert.
Since the other party came alone, what did he have to be afraid of? Killing Robert would leave his organization leaderless, and what could it possibly become? He could even take over and become the next Robert!
Argyle's plan was going smoothly, but the next second, Argyle's subordinates were terrified by the dozen or so mercenaries carrying heavy weapons who burst in through the door. All of their guns were disarmed in an instant, and Argyle's hand was twisted and broken on the spot by a strong mercenary. He turned pale with pain and screamed.
The sudden appearance of so many mercenaries truly frightened the VIPs at the party.
The women were both afraid of and in love with Robert, their hearts filled with pink bubbles, and they secretly moved closer to the handsome man who seemed to have descended like a god.
"Are you just going to stand by and watch the show? Robert is so arrogant. This time it's Duke Argyll who's unlucky, but what about next time? Next time it will be your turn. You, the nobles of Y Country, are actually afraid of such a ruthless and unruly underground party member?"
Argyll's subordinates screamed desperately, as if only in this way could they alleviate their inner fear. He wanted to take a gamble, to incite the other dukes and nobles present to dislike Robert, so that they could unite and deal with this mercenary group together.
Several high-ranking military officials narrowed their eyes, seemingly convinced by the man's words, and their hearts began to stir.
Indeed, Robert is all-powerful in Country Y. If things continue like this, he will probably become more and more arrogant. It's only a matter of time before they are brought down. Who knows, one day it might be their turn to be suppressed by Robert.
They brought their own people with them to the party; if they stick together, they might not be any worse than Robert's team.
Robert chuckled softly when he heard Argyle's subordinate's desperate words, but he didn't take them to heart at all.
"You're pretty tough."
"You can't always have the power to control everything. Sooner or later you'll end up like me, being trampled underfoot!"
"Oh?" Robert asked languidly, his deep blue eyes casually sweeping over Duke Argyll's subordinates.
A mercenary instantly understood, stepped forward, raised his military boot, and stomped hard on the neck of Duke Argyll's subordinate.
The man coughed up a mouthful of blood, his limbs twitched, and he quickly lost consciousness.
The effect of making an example of someone was excellent; the rest of Duke Argyll's subordinates kept their mouths shut, and no one dared to utter a single word of dissent.
