Chapter 60 Mysterious Power
Chapter 60 Mysterious Power
This spiritual energy was vast and boundless, yet it carried a strange, chilling chill, completely different from the warm and peaceful spiritual power of Abbess Huixin. My heart skipped a beat, and I instinctively withdrew my hand, looking warily at the stone door. Could it be that some secret was hidden behind this stone door?
"Curiosity killed the cat." A deep, husky voice suddenly rang in my ear, carrying a hint of mockery and a warning.
I whirled around, only to find no one behind me. Could someone be watching me from the shadows? My heart leaped into my throat, and I gripped my sword tightly.
"Stop looking, I'm in your heart." The voice rang out again, with a hint of a smile. "Or rather, I am you."
"Who...who exactly are you?" I forced myself to calm down, my mind racing, but I couldn't come up with any clues.
"You'll soon find out who I am." The voice paused, then became seductive. "Want to know what secrets lie behind this stone door? Want to know why you came to this world? Open it, and all the answers are inside."
I hesitated. The words the voice spoke were the answer I most desperately wanted to know. But my intuition told me things weren't so simple. This eerie spiritual energy, this mysterious voice, both made me uneasy.
"Don't believe it, Yao'er!" Master Huixin's voice rang in my mind, tinged with anxiety. "This is a trap set by the inner demon; it wants to bewitch you and control you!"
Master Huixin's words made me shudder. Yes, how could I forget? I am still in the Heart Demon Realm and have not yet completely broken free from the control of the Heart Demon!
I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down, and looked firmly at the stone door: "I don't need your answer. My destiny is in my own hands!"
Having said that, I turned and walked away, ignoring the allure of that voice. However, the instant I turned, the stone door suddenly opened by itself, and a powerful suction pulled me inside…
When I came to my senses, I found myself in a spacious, secret chamber. In the center of the chamber stood a white jade altar, upon which rested an ancient book and an exquisite jade box.
I cautiously approached, my gaze falling upon the ancient book. On the cover, four large, ancient seal characters were boldly inscribed—"Nine Revolutions Heart Sutra." My heart skipped a beat. Could this be the legendary "Nine Revolutions Heart Sutra," capable of controlling hearts and minds and reversing fate? I took a deep breath and slowly turned the pages. An ancient and mysterious aura wafted over me. The pages were written in a script I had never seen before, obscure and difficult to understand. Yet, to my surprise, I discovered a force within my mind guiding me to comprehend these words.
Each character seemed to come alive, leaping, arranging, and combining in my mind, ultimately forming a complete scripture. This scripture was incredibly profound, describing an ancient technique for cultivating the mind and combating inner demons. Could this be the reason that mysterious force had guided me here? Was it to allow me to obtain this "Nine Revolutions Heart Sutra" to fight my inner demons?
My heart pounded, an overwhelming excitement welling up inside me. If I could cultivate this "Nine Revolutions Heart Sutra," not only could I successfully pass the test of the Inner Demon Realm, but I could even break through my own limits and reach a higher realm! I couldn't wait to begin cultivating, but looking around, I couldn't find any cultivation methods. Could it be that the cultivation method was hidden within this "Nine Revolutions Heart Sutra"?
I calmed myself and carefully studied the scriptures again, trying to find the secrets of cultivation within them. Time passed slowly, and I was completely immersed in the mysteries of the scriptures, forgetting time and everything around me…
Meanwhile, outside the secret chamber, a dark figure lurked silently. This figure was Xuan Feng, who had been secretly observing Xiao Yao, looking for an opportunity to seize the "Nine Revolutions Heart Sutra." He looked at the flickering restrictive light on the stone door, a cold smile curling at the corner of his lips.
"Hmph, this girl is lucky, she actually stumbled upon this place by accident." Xuanfeng muttered to himself, "However, not just anyone can cultivate this 'Nine Revolutions Heart Sutra'. Without my guidance, she will only suffer a qi deviation and bring about her own destruction. When she suffers a qi deviation, that will be the day I seize the treasure!"
Xuanfeng held his breath, completely concealing his aura, patiently waiting for the right moment. I, however, remained oblivious, still wholeheartedly focused on comprehending the mysteries of the "Nine Revolutions Heart Sutra." Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck me, as if I had grasped a glimmer of insight into cultivation… I took a deep breath, slowly closed my eyes, and following the guidance in my mind, began attempting to cultivate the first movement of the "Nine Revolutions Heart Sutra"—the "Tranquility Mantra."
"Om..."
I whispered the incantation, and a strange energy flowed through my body...
"Om..." The incantation rolled on my tongue, and a warm energy flowed through my meridians, but it was like an untamed wild horse, rampaging and crashing, as if my body was about to be torn apart by this force. I gritted my teeth, and large beads of sweat rolled down my forehead, but I did not give up and continued to try to guide this violent energy.
"Calm down, calm down..." Master Huixin's words echoed in my ears. I tried to clear my mind, imagining a calm lake, letting the breeze blow without causing a ripple. Gradually, the violent energy seemed to sense my will and began to become docile. Under my guidance, it slowly flowed through my meridians, nourishing my body and soul.
I was overjoyed, knowing that I had found the way to practice the "Meditation Mantra".
However, just as I was making some progress in my cultivation, a powerful malice was secretly brewing.
"Damn Xiao Yao, why is she always so lucky!" Su Yao smashed the teacup in her hand to the ground, the shards scattering like her current mood.
"Junior Sister, don't panic, we still have a chance," Senior Brother Lin whispered, trying to comfort her, but a glint of ruthlessness flashed in his eyes. "I've already discovered that there's a powerful magic treasure in Xiao Yao's cultivation cave. If we can..."
Su Yao's eyes lit up, and she immediately understood Senior Brother Lin's intention. "Senior Brother, you mean..."
“That’s right,” Senior Brother Lin’s lips curled into a sinister smile, “We can use this trial in the Inner Demon Realm to keep Xiao Yao inside forever…”
Unbeknownst to me, a conspiracy against me was quietly unfolding. I was immersed in the joy of cultivation, practicing the "Meditation Mantra" day after day, feeling myself growing stronger little by little.
Until one day, during a cultivation session, I accidentally activated that mysterious power, and the magical treasure placed deep within my cave suddenly burst forth with dazzling light...
I was immersed in the practice of the Tranquility Mantra, and warm currents flowed through my meridians, like spring rain nourishing parched land. Suddenly, a powerful force surged from the depths of my dantian, spreading uncontrollably in all directions. I opened my eyes and was astonished to find that deep within the cave, the magical artifact, which was usually dull and lackluster, was now radiating a dazzling light.
The light was so warm, like a mother's embrace, dispelling all distracting thoughts and fears during my cultivation. I clearly felt that the barrier that had been preventing me from breaking through my inner demons began to loosen and crumble under the light.
"This, this is..." I stared at the magical artifact in shock, a sudden realization dawning on me: the power of this artifact might be the key to overcoming my inner demons!
I took a deep breath, closed my eyes again, and guided this power to attack the last line of defense of my inner demons.
"Ah..." I groaned in pain, the illusions of my inner demons surging in like a tidal wave, threatening to engulf me. I saw Senior Brother Wen Chen's cold eyes, heard Su Yao's sharp and sarcastic mockery, and felt the despair of being abandoned by the entire world...
Just when I was about to give up, that warm light enveloped me again, dispelling all the darkness and fear. I opened my eyes, and the illusion of my inner demons had vanished, replaced by an unprecedented peace and determination.
I did it! I conquered my inner demons!
Overjoyed, I stood up, but then I sensed a chilling aura lingering outside the cave. A chill ran through me, and I immediately became alert.
"Who is it?" I whispered, while secretly activating the power of my magic weapon to prepare for any unexpected situation.
"Heh, it's like finding a needle in a haystack." A sinister voice came from outside the cave. "I didn't expect you to be able to unleash the power of this magic weapon. It seems you have quite a few secrets."
My heart sank. Judging from that voice, it must be the evil cultivator Xuan Feng! How did he find this place? Could it be…
I clenched my fists, a resolute glint in my eyes. No matter what, I would not let him succeed!
Just then, footsteps sounded outside the cave, and a dark figure slowly walked in… My gaze fell on the envelope in his hand; the black ink exuded an eerie aura. He smiled wickedly and threw the envelope in front of me. “Someone asked me to give this to you. Perhaps you’ll find it very interesting.”
I hesitated as I picked up the envelope, my fingertips touching the cold paper, and a strange unease welled up inside me...
