Chapter 102 Qiu Rongmu and the old lady disappeared!
Class 3, Grade 8.
When Qiu Rongmu saw Zhen Xiaosi rushing over, panting, he looked at her with a concerned yet slightly amused expression:
"Oh dear, Master Zhen, what's up? Is the misunderstanding cleared up? Are you calm now? Do you feel like there are even more problems now?"
Zhen Xiaosi looked up and sniffed: "Hmm, I feel much better! I've decided, I'll go to your house after school to lend you a hand!"
After hearing this, Qiu Rongmu waved his hand and said, "Oh, no need for that! But if you insist on coming, I won't rush you. You're welcome to come."
Zhen Xiaosi thought about it for a moment. She hadn't really planned to go, but she slapped her forehead and agreed: "Okay, then I'll go home tonight and talk to my dad about it!"
The next day at school, Zhen Xiaosi was already thinking about what would happen at Qiu Rongmu's house that evening.
Nowadays, the two are not exactly close friends, but they do help each other out.
The next day after school, Qiu Rongmu suddenly changed his mind, even though they had originally agreed to go together.
He carried his schoolbag with a calm expression: "Why don't you go first? I still have to teach my students for a while, and I'll go back after I'm done."
"Zhen Xiaosi, why don't you go home first? You can come to my house another day. I'll be back later; my tutoring class isn't over yet."
Xiao Si felt a strange sensation in her heart, unable to tell whether it was disappointment or unease.
Zhen Xiaosi pouted and grumbled, "Didn't we agree to go to your house?! I know where you live. If we get lost and run into some bad guys, you'll be responsible!"
Qiu Rongmu actually smiled and nodded.
Zhen Xiaosi muttered to herself as she slowly walked towards the Qiu family's house.
On the way, thinking about how many strange things had happened lately, Xiao Si couldn't help but laugh, thinking to herself, "Why am I always so easily bothered?"
As the sun set, her shadow stretched long and thin, as if she were being secretly chased by something.
Xiao Si stood at the Qiu family's door, raising his hand to knock, but suddenly stopped.
She peeked through the crack in the door. The room was dark and eerily quiet, without a sound that should be typical of a home.
She hesitated for a moment, then pushed open the door and went inside.
Footsteps echoed in the empty room.
She instinctively looked at the chair in the living room, but there was nothing on it—the old lady who always sat there, and the person who took care of her, were both gone.
A faint musty smell permeated the air, probably because the windows hadn't been opened for a long time.
Xiao Si called out twice, "Is anyone there?" But only deathly silence answered her.
Xiao Si couldn't help but shiver.
She suppressed her fear, walked quickly to the chair, and wiped her hand on the armrest.
Dust settled on my fingers, dry and cold.
There were people sitting there yesterday, but today it looks like it's been abandoned for a long time.
She panicked and turned to leave, but then she heard a faint creaking sound coming from the second floor, like the sound of an old wooden door being pushed open.
Xiao Si paused, a chill running down her spine. She held her breath, straining her ears to try and pinpoint the source of the sound.
A few seconds later, the sound stopped again. Just as she was hesitating whether to go up, she suddenly heard a soft rustling sound behind her, as if someone had passed by her.
She turned around abruptly, but there was nothing there. The living room was empty, with only the ticking of the clock on the wall.
The next day at school, Qiu Rongmu's seat was empty, and Xiao Si was restless all day.
She tried to message Qiu Rongmu, but he didn't reply.
After school, she went to the Qiu family's house again, only to find the door still tightly closed.
The room was still pitch black, and the chair was covered in even more dust, as if no one had ever cleaned it.
She tried asking her neighbor, Uncle Zhao, but received an unexpected reply: "The Qiu family? Oh dear, they moved away a long time ago! Are you sure you've come to the right place?"
Little Si was stunned and speechless.
She forced herself to endure the tingling sensation on her scalp, lowered her head, and quickly left the area.
