Chapter 48 Tea House
Chapter 48 Tea House
At Gyeongju Station, a group of girls ran out shouting.
"Hey~! Deok-sun! Get the camera out, we need to take a picture before we get on the bus!" Wang Zixian called out happily.
"OK!" Deok-sun nodded, holding her drink in one hand and rummaging through her bag with the other.
"This is wonderful! This is the first time I've ever been to Jeolla Province since I was born!" Jang Mi-ok exclaimed happily.
“But this is Gyeongsang Province (place name)~” Wang Zixian pointed out Zhang Meiyu’s flaw at an inopportune moment.
"Is it that important?" Zhang Meiyu was still smiling, completely disoriented.
Wang Zixian looked at her best friend, who was rambling on and on, and couldn't help but give her a disdainful look...
Deok-sun patted Jang Mi-ok on the shoulder, handed her a drink, and frantically rummaged through her large bag with both hands.
Zhang Meiyu and Wang Zixian exchanged a glance and looked at Deshan.
"What are you looking for?" Zixian asked.
"Looking for a camera?" Zixian then asked.
"No way?" Zhang Meiyu also began to notice that Deok-sun's expression seemed to be acting strangely.
"I! Want! To! Go! Back! Waaaaaa!" Deok-sun raised her head and shouted frantically.
Zhang Meiyu and Wang Zixian were stunned to see Deok-sun going crazy.
On the train, a lone camera sits on a seat, perhaps waiting for an irresponsible owner to come and take it home...
However, the Busan station sign outside seemed to be telling it, "Don't wait anymore, we've arrived..."
"Waaaaah~~~Waaaah~~~~Swoosh~~~~Waaaah~~" Deok-sun cried, while Ja-hyun and Mi-ok sat to the side with downturned lips and helpless expressions.
"Deok-sun, it's okay~ It's normal to lose a camera~~" The homeroom teacher, wearing glasses, gently comforted Deok-sun as she patted her back.
"That's our family heirloom! Waaaaah~~~, Mom might kill me~~~ Waaaah~~" Deok-sun looked up and responded, still unable to stop crying.
"Teacher, can I go home now? I'm so scared I can't go play anymore~ Waaah~~" Deok-sun cried.
"Should I call your mother?" the homeroom teacher asked helplessly.
"Really?" Deok-sun looked up at her homeroom teacher with anticipation.
At the public phone booth, the homeroom teacher picked up the phone, inserted the phone card, and dialed Deok-sun's home phone number.
Deok-sun leaned against the side, tears still wet in her eyes, looking at her homeroom teacher who was on the phone with a mixture of fear and expectation.
"Is this Cheng Deshan's home?" The call was answered.
"Hello, Auntie, I'm Deok-sun's homeroom teacher. Hehe, Auntie, it's nothing special."
The homeroom teacher adjusted her tone and spoke gently.
"Deok-sun left her camera on the train, what should we do, Auntie? Auntie?"
Upon hearing this, Deok-sun couldn't stop crying again.
"Oh, yes, she was crying really hard!" the homeroom teacher continued.
"This is a once-in-a-lifetime school trip. We can't let her spend it filled with fear and dread. That would be too tragic~~~" The homeroom teacher finished speaking and then smiled upon hearing the response from the other end.
He turned to look at Deok-sun.
"Thank you, Auntie. I'll let Deok-sun answer the phone for you. Okay~" The homeroom teacher pulled over the anxious Deok-sun and handed her the phone.
"Mom~~" Deok-sun answered the phone with a sob in her voice.
"Deok-sun, it's okay~ Have fun~" Her mother's voice came through the phone.
"Really?" Deok-sun's eyes widened.
"Really, Mom?" Deok-sun asked again, still unsure.
"Oh, of course, I'm serious!"
"It's true, you don't need to worry about anything anymore, have fun with your friends~!"
"Mom~~!" Deok-sun finally smiled when she heard her mother's voice.
On the school trip bus, Deok-sun was incredibly resilient; she instantly recovered and even danced with joy, as if she had just escaped death.
Meanwhile, Deok-sun's mother, having just hung up the phone, couldn't help but close her eyes and take a deep breath.
"Ouch~~~" She lay down weakly, her eyes falling on the prenatal music that Paula's father had bought, which was placed next to her quilt.
As if possessed, she picked up the first volume of the "Prenatal Education for Young Children" audio tape and put it into the player.
She had only wanted to listen to some soothing music to ease her depressed mood, but before she could even lie down...
"Bang~bang~"
The sound of two wooden fish drums startled her as she was about to lie down.
The increasingly urgent sound of the wooden fish drum rang out.
"The Heart Sutra of the Perfection of Wisdom, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva..."
As the Sanskrit chanting began, Paula's mother, who had been so angered by her husband's foolishness that she sat up again, was bathed in a ray of sunlight streaming through the window—a perfectly fitting moment...
She stared blankly at the box labeled "Prenatal Education for Young Children," then sat helplessly cross-legged on the floor.
......
Meanwhile, on the bus where Deok-sun was, music was playing, and a beautiful girl was dancing Kim Hwan-seon's dance, which Deok-sun was imitating.
"Hey~!"
Deok-sun was exhausted from just imitating, and she plopped down in her seat.
"Shouldn't we have jumped on the 'fire truck' instead of Kim Hwan-seon? I feel like she would have been the first one~" Deok-sun said, sounding a little discouraged.
"That dance to the beat, as long as you dance it well, that's all that matters~"
"You haven't forgotten dancing, have you?"
Zhang Meiyu reminded her.
“Hey~ No problem~!” Deok-sun said, gesturing a couple of times.
Looking at Deok-sun's gestures, Wang Zixian couldn't help but say something.
"Even after all this, what if we still can't get first place?"
“If you can’t get the ‘shake’ hand, I feel like you’ll cry~!” Wang Zixian teased, turning to look at Deok-sun.
"Unless you suddenly break your arms, we're definitely going to be number one! Want to make a bet?" Deok-sun was full of confidence.
"Oh~~~" Zhang Meiyu looked at her mischievously.
"Deok-sun, why don't you ask your boyfriend to buy you one? Isn't he super rich?" Jang Mi-ok teased.
"Hey! What nonsense are you talking about~" Deok-sun quickly covered her mouth, and only let go when she saw that no one was paying attention.
“Shuyu…it’s his business if he has money, it’s not mine~~” Deoksun argued softly.
"I really don't understand you. Before you were in a relationship, you looked like a madman, but after you started dating, you've become like an idiot..." Zhang Meiyu looked at Wang Zixian, and the two laughed and teased each other.
"Hey~!!!" Deok-sun swung her fist and showed them what the word 'crazy' really meant...
......
"Ring ring ring~~~"
Hello~
Paula's mother had barely rested for a short while when the phone rang again.
"Oh, hello, teacher!"
"Why are you calling our home?"
"Did Yu Hui get into trouble?"
It's truly a case of misfortunes never coming singly, and a delayed boat encountering a headwind.
"Oh, it's nothing."
"Yu Hui set up a teahouse for a day, but the student affairs department found out."
The teacher's voice came through the phone.
"What? A one-day tea house? What's that?"
"Oh~ it's something that's been popular among students lately, like selling drinks or organizing dates!"
"He probably did that so he could go out and have fun with his girlfriend."
Hearing this, Paula's mother breathed a sigh of relief, at least it wasn't something illegal.
