Yeah, he’s entirely correct.” I chuckled, not feeling too bad about it. “But now he’s also a noble who can live in the best luxury our country can offer. Before that, he himself was a bandit who robbed struggling peasants because his gang had nothing to eat. He really shouldn’t complain.”
I couldn’t see Whisper’s astral projection; I only knew that she was somewhere in my office since she heard my spoken words aloud. However, I could sense her mood and was sure that she was nodding eagerly to my words.
‘Humans are ungrateful, Father! This small festivity that we offered to Ramwill-human was just a start, though. There will be much grander ones in the capital city.’ Whisper paused for long enough that I thought she had finished speaking, but then she added, ‘He’s ungrateful enough to still harbour resentment even then, though! Agent Explanatory says that he has been acting like this for a while now, and no subtle methods used by her were able to really change this.’

Dalmanrach raised his hand, and a ghostly blue flame appeared in it. However, when I looked at it, I was seeing it not with my eyes, but with my mind. Like it was something I was simply imagining—it made me want to rub my eyes to clear my sight.
“This is the ability to control the minds of other creatures with developed intelligence. Learn it, and take more direct control over the humans! Subjugate them so thoroughly that the God of Humanity will lose all influence in this world… While you will gain all of it.”
I stared at the flame and listened to Dalmanrach’s speeches, mesmerised.
“The humans you had troubles with will obey you easily. So will all the other humans that were left on the continent. Then… we could move to the final steps!”
With these words, Dalmanrach waved his hand, and the blue flame flew into my head so quickly that I didn’t have time to dodge.
Knowledge exploded in my mind—mental techniques that I could use to twist my genetic telepathy into something much more sinister.
This ability would allow me to mess with the minds of humans using only my own and rewrite their innermost desires and motivations. It will allow me to insert devotion I tried to instill directly into their minds.
For several seconds, I was stunned, digesting this ability and the knowledge of it. When I could comprehend anything but it, I saw that Dalmanrach was gone already.
