Chapter 597 Clues Emerge and a New Crisis
Lin Yu and the others carefully left the ruins with the first key. Sunlight filtered through the dense foliage, casting dappled patterns on the ground, but their temporary victory did not bring them any relief. They knew that the dark organization was lurking in the shadows, ready to strike again at any moment.
“We need to find a safe place to study this key carefully and see if we can find clues to the next key,” Lin Yu said, his eyes warily scanning the surroundings. The team members nodded and followed him toward the spaceship.
Back on the spaceship, Ellie immediately placed the key on the control panel and activated various scanning devices to analyze the data. Lin Yu and Xiao Wang watched nervously from the side, hoping for new discoveries.
“There seem to be some tiny symbols engraved on this key. It was too dark in the ruins before, so I didn’t notice them,” Ellie said, projecting a magnified image of the symbols onto the screen. These symbols were crooked and curved, like some kind of ancient script, exuding a mysterious aura.
“I feel like I’ve seen similar symbols somewhere before.” Lin Yu frowned, trying hard to recall. Suddenly, his eyes lit up. “That’s right, there were similar symbols on the gate before we entered the ruins! Maybe this is the key to finding the next key.”
The group immediately pulled up the photo of the gate they had taken when entering the ruins and compared the symbols on it with those on the key. After careful study, they discovered a specific pattern among the symbols, which seemed to be pointing in a direction.
“Following this pattern, the next key should be in the northern region of the planet, where there’s a towering mountain that’s very likely our destination,” Ellie said excitedly. Lin Yu nodded. “Okay, let’s set off immediately. But be careful, the Dark Organization is definitely also looking for the next key, and they may have already headed in that direction.”
The spaceship took off again, heading towards the northern part of the planet. Throughout the journey, everyone remained highly vigilant, their eyes glued to the screens, afraid of missing anything unusual.
As they approached their destination, they suddenly discovered a group of aircraft in the sky ahead—the same aircraft from the Dark Organization that had attacked them earlier.
"Damn it, they've spotted us!" Lin Yu's expression changed, and he quickly maneuvered the spaceship to evade. However, the spacecraft was extremely fast and soon caught up, surrounding the spaceship.
"Everyone, prepare for battle!" Lin Yu shouted, activating the spaceship's weapon systems. The team members took their positions, tensely awaiting the outbreak of battle.
The Dark Organization's spacecraft launched the first attack, unleashing beams of energy at the ship. Lin Yu skillfully maneuvered the ship to dodge the attacks while simultaneously directing his team to counterattack. The ship's weapons emitted dazzling light, mingling with the attacks from the spacecraft, illuminating the entire sky as if it were daytime.
During the intense firefight, Lin Yu noticed that the attack methods of these aircraft were different from before, seemingly becoming more organized and flexible. He realized that the dark organization had likely analyzed and adjusted their tactics.
"This won't do. We're running out of ammunition; we can't keep going like this," Ellie said anxiously. Lin Yu gritted his teeth, his eyes quickly scanning the battlefield, trying to find an opportunity to break through.
Just then, he suddenly noticed a brief gap in the encirclement of aircraft. It turned out that one of the aircraft had malfunctioned, forcing the surrounding aircraft to adjust their positions.
"Now! Charge out!" Lin Yu shouted, jerking the control stick forward. The spaceship shot towards the gap like lightning. Under the cover of fire from the other team members, the spaceship successfully broke through the encirclement of other aircraft and flew towards the mountain peak ahead.
However, as they approached the mountain peak, they discovered that it was shrouded in a thick fog, from which strange lights flickered intermittently.
"There seems to be danger lurking in this fog. Should we go in?" Xiao Wang asked hesitantly. Lin Yu took a deep breath. "We've come this far, we can't just give up like this. Let's be careful and approach slowly."
The spaceship slowly entered the mist. As soon as they entered, everyone felt a powerful energy surge, and the spaceship's instruments began to malfunction.
"Be careful! The energy in this fog is very unstable; danger could strike at any moment!" Ellie shouted anxiously. Lin Yu gripped the control stick tightly, focusing intently on piloting the spaceship, trying to find a safe path through the perilous fog.
After groping their way through the mist for some time, they finally saw the outline of a massive building. Hidden deep within the fog, the building exuded a mysterious aura, seemingly awaiting their arrival.
"It seems this is the place we're looking for," Lin Yu said softly. However, they were unaware that even more severe trials and unknown dangers awaited them within this mysterious building. Would they be able to successfully find the second key and thwart the dark organization's plot once again?
